RURAL PROJECTS
In light of the frequent periods of drought, Salt & Light Uganda is working towards bore hole provision.
The need to find water, at considerable distances, can keep children out of school and cause damage to their young bodies.
Salt & Light Uganda has been providing sets of oxen and plough to help people generate income as they re-plant the land, following two decades of war.

BORE HOLES
Water supply in this area is very unreliable. Both residents and animals are struggling with a drought and famine that has seen the United Nations call for help. Two bore holes are needed: one for humans and one for animals.
Installation of one bore hole (including drilling, piping, head and the services of a geologist) costs US$15,000.
OX & PLOUGH
An ox and plough can set up a family with a means of income: planting crops, harvesting them and selling in the local markets.
Salt & Light is needing 20-30 sets of oxen and ploughs. Each costs US$1,000.
